I have been a consultant since 2008. My main interest is otology, hearing loss, management of vertigo and tinnitus. Apart from seeing patients with general ear problems, I also have expertise in paediatric audiology, implantation otology and skull base conditions.
I specialise in general and specialist otology. The procedures I perform include grommet insertion, myringoplasty, tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty, mastoidectomy, combined approach tympanoplasty and bone anchored hearing aid; Non-surgical management of vertigo, BPPV, hearing loss, skull base disorders, acoustic neuroma, tinnitus and hyperacusis, patulous eustachian tube and eustachian tube dysfunction.
I am on the postgraduate educational committee at Walsall Manor Hospital. I am clinical supervisor of foundation year trainees and specialist registrars, a member of the theatre user group at Walsall Manor Hospital and an elected council member of the British Society of Otology.
Apart from my clinical work I have a strong interest in research. A current project is a randomised controlled study to help improve hearing in children with glue ear. I am Principal Investigator at Walsall Manor Hospital.
I am one of the founding members of the British Balance Network and a member of the international otological group, The Politzer Society. I am a Council member of the British Society of Otology, a certified surgical tutor and I have a strong research interest in fellowships skull base surgery and cochlear implant.
