Miss Allen was trained in orthopaedic surgery in Birmingham and Bristol. She undertook a fellowship in foot and ankle and paediatric orthopaedic surgery in Dublin in 1998 and was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Bristol in 2000. She moved to Leicester as a Consultant in 2003 and has developed the Foot and Ankle service here.
Miss Allen’s practice encompasses all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including arthroscopic surgery (including arthrodesis[fusion]), deformity correction, rheumatoid forefoot reconstruction, soft tissue and tendon disorders and sports injuries. She has a particular interest in neurological deformities of the foot and ankle and hindfoot arthrodesis (fusion). She performs all forms of forefoot surgery, including complex revision surgery and much of the forefoot work she undertakes can be performed under local and regional anaesthesia to avoid the need for a general anaesthetic.
Miss Allen is a keen runner when not acting as a taxi service for her children and also enjoys gardening and walking.
