Mr Gelbaya is a consultant gynaecologist and sub specialist in reproductive medicine and surgery at the University Hospitals of Leicester.  Mr Gelbaya's main duties are at the assisted conception unit, known as Leicester Fertility Centre. Mr Gelbaya is especially interested in implantation failure, endometriosis and reproductive surgery.

He undertook his initial medical training in Cairo and obtained an MD degree in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2003. He completed his specialty training in the north west region and his subspecialty training at Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester.  Mr Gelbaya has published a variety of highly recognised international journals and presented at many national and international conferences:-

Assisted conception/ ovulation induction / IVF/ICSI/IUI/DI

Reproductive endocrinology/ polycystic ovary syndrome

Reproductive surgery using laparoscopic (keyhole) approach/laparoscopic excision of endometriosis/ tubal surgery/ removal of ovarian cysts

Management of menstrual disorders including gynaecological surgery
