David Lloyd is a consultant surgeon specialising in laparoscopic surgery and Hepato-biliary surgery. He has performed more than 2500 laparoscopic cholecystectomies, more than 4000 laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs and over 200 laparoscopic splenectomies. His major laparoscopic interests also include hiatus hernia repair and gastro-oesophageal reflux. He has a strong interest in biliary disease and has a regular endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography list. His major surgery involves complex liver resections, mainly for cancer and in developing a microwave probe for the treatment of liver cancer.
