Miss Elson trained initially at University of Leicester Medical School before completing her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in East Anglia. She spent two years in London undertaking research in ectopic pregnancy and miscarriages and now travels lecturing on this topic.
Miss Elson's research forms the basis of the national guidelines in this area. She then went onto train reproductive medicine which covers infertility (male and female), endocrinology (hormones), recurrent pregnancy loss and paediatric gynaecology for two years at St Marys Hospital in Manchester.
An experienced consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leicester she currently specialises in infertility, assisted conception, reproductive endocrinology (hormone problems), early pregnancy loss and recurrent miscarriage and paediatric/adolescent gynaecology. Miss Elson is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Guidelines committee and Medical Advisor to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.
In Miss Elson's spare time she is a busy mum of two. She loves skiing, travelling, good food and in the winter sometimes manages to combine all three.
