Miss Armstrong is a general orthopaedic surgeon and has a special interest in disorders of the upper limb, shoulder, elbow and hand. Prior to her appointment in Leicester Miss Armstrong trained in the mid-Trent rotations on the Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow Unit and the Derby Hand Unit. She has also been trained in open and arthroscopic surgery.

Miss Armstrong is committed to continuing her professional development and reached accreditation for the 1996 to 2001 cycle for continued medical education (CME).

Recently Miss Armstrong has been awarded the British Elbow & Shoulder Society Seniors Travelling Fellowship.
