Dr Pavord has published widely in blood coagulation and obstetric haematology. She has co-written a leading textbook; The Obstetric Hematology Manual and is an author of national guidelines in anaemia of pregnancy and congenital bleeding disorders in pregnancy.

Dr Sue Pavord has provided a haematology service to the 3 University Hospitals of Leicester, as an NHS consultant, since completion of specialist training in 1998. She is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary where she is also Director of the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Unit and clinical lead for anticoagulation. She is chair of the UHL Thrombosis Committee and anticoagulation steering group.She runs a busy general obstetric haematology service and has become a national leader in this area, co-founding the BSH Obstetric Haematology Group and running an annual international course. She has published widely and co-authored the leading textbook on Obstetric Haematology. She is delighted to provide a consultation service in haemostasis, thrombosis and general haematology, excluding malignant haematology.
Dr Sue Pavord enjoys being the mother of 3 teenagers. She has a diverse range of interests, from ballet dancing to Scout leadership. She is fun-loving with a strong sense of outdoor adventure.
