Dr Graham-Brown trained in London and was first appointed in Leicester in 1983. He has had a private practice for the past 22 based at Spire Leicester Hospital. He practices in conventional dermatology with a bias towards eczema and skin cancer. Dr Graham-Brown is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leicester as well as being Deputy Medical Director of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He has also been involved in medical management, undertaking various roles. Dr Graham-Brown was President of the British Association of Dermatologists 2005 - 2006 and the editor of the British Journal Dermatology from 2000 - 2004. He was also the Chairman of the Department of Health Working Party on Dermatology Closer to Home 2006 - 2008.

Dr Graham-Brown is married to Margaret and they have three sons, James, Matthew and John, who are respectively in the professions of law, medicine and veterinary medicine. His interests include travel, food and drink and horses. He is a member of the MCC.
