Dr James Falconer Smith trained at Christchurch, Oxford and The Middlesex Hospital, London before taking up a role as Senior Registrar and lecturer in chemical pathology at Radcliffe Royal Infirmary in Oxford. A Consultant Clinical Pathologist at University Hospitals Leicester for 28 years, he recently retired from the NHS and now focuses his attention on his private practice.
Dr Falconer Smith has a special interest in thyroid problems and lipid disease.

Dr Falconer Smith is married and has one cat and has lived in Leicester since 1983. He reads widely, both fiction and non-fiction, loves to listen to light classical music and has recently taken up golfing. Dr Falconer Smith’s guilty pleasure is ‘Strictly Come Dancing’!
