Mr David Lloyd is a consultant general surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Mr Lloyd has a thriving private practice at Spire Leicester Hospital where he consults and carries out surgical procedures for patients from Leicester and Leicestershire but also he has a national and international reputation for his specialist expertise in liver surgery and innovative work in keyhole surgery.
Mr Lloyd specialises in hepatobiliary surgery, gall stone disease, jaundice, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, groin hernias, groin strain, laparoscopic hernia repair, liver cancer and pancreatic cancer.
Through his work in the NHS, Mr Lloyd has achieved world wide success in the treatment of liver tumours by developing a pioneering technique using microwaves to destroy liver tumours. Mr Lloyd has treated more than 100 patients in the UK and other patients are now being treated internationally.
