Professional profile:
I am a consultant paediatric surgeon specialising exclusively in paediatric urology and Professor of Paediatric Surgery at the University of Leeds. I qualified at Cambridge University and Guys Hospital London in 1970 and trained at the Hospital for Sick Children, Ormond Street, London, prior to my appointment to a consultant post in Leeds in 1982. In 1985, a travelling scholarship enabled me to spend time in the United States. I have published extensively and am an examiner for the specialist examinations in Urology and Paediatric Surgery. I am currently Chairman of the Child Health and Paediatric Committee of the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.
