Professor Sebag-Montefiore trained in clinical oncology in London at Mount Vernon, Middlesex and St. Bartholomew's Hospitals. He was appointed as a consultant clinical oncologist in Leeds in 1995 and is based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.Patients with gastrointestinal cancer who are referred to Professor Sebag-Montefiore are seen for an initial consultation at Spire Leeds Hospital. Radiotherapy treatment is given at St James's Institute of Oncology, St James's Hospital and chemotherapy treatment is given either at Spire Leeds Hospital or at home using the services provided by Healthcare at Home. This selection is dependant upon the patient's choice and the specific chemotherapy treatment that is recommended. In accordance with natonal multidisciplinary meetings attended by the health care professionals responsible for the management of the specific gastrointestinal cancer site.
