Professor Julian Scott is a council member of the BHF and member of the Stroke Association Grant Board. He is the current examination chairman of the European Board of Vascular Surgery. He has been a council member of the Vascular Surgical Society of Great Britain and Ireland and a chairman of the Training and Education Committee.

Professor Scott is the Vice President elect of the Vascular Society of GB and Ireland 2010-2011, President elect 2011-2012 and President 2012-13. Professor Scott holds a NIHR Development Programme Grant to evaluate the reorganisation of vascular services.

Professor Scott's specialty interests include all aspects of arterial, venous and lymphatic disease. Surgery includes abdominal aortic aneurysms, femoro-popliteal/distal bypass, carotid endarterectomy and varicose vein surgery.

Professor Julian Scott is a keen gardener and enjoys skiing and keeping fit in his spare time. HIs wife is a consultant neonatologist in Hull and is a keen horsewomen. She also provides medical support at a number of equestrian events in Yorkshire.
