Background Information 
Professional profile:
Mr Marks has been a consultant in Leeds since 1992. Prior to that he was Consultant Neurosurgeon and Reader in Surgery at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He trained in neurosurgery in London and Cambridge and was visiting Fellow at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. His doctoral thesis was on the neuropathology of head injury. Mr Marks established a research programme investigating the effects of photodynamic therapy on recurrent pituitary tumours, for which he was awarded the Hunterian Professorship of the Royal College of Surgeons. His clinical interests are spinal surgery, the surgery of pituitary and other midline tumours as well as cerebrovascular problems.
