Mr Nick Harris took up his post as a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary and as senior clinical lecturer at the University of Leeds in August 2001.

Mr Nick Harris has a sub-specialty interest in foot and ankle surgery. He completed a foot and ankle fellowship in Dublin with Mr Mike Stevens who was then President of the European Foot and Ankle Society. Mr Harris also trained with Mr Tom Smith past President of the British Orthopaedic Foot Surgery Society. 

Mr Harris has a particular interest in ankle replacement surgery and has performed approximately 400 such procedures. He is a member of the Biomet Total Ankle Replacement Faculty looking at ways to continually improve techniques and results in this challenging area. Mr Harris also undertakes large numbers of forefoot and bunion operations.

In addition to foot and ankle surgery Mr Harris undertakes general knee surgery and has spent time working with Mr Dan Du Plessis a knee surgeon in South Africa who looked after the Springboks Rugby Team.

Married with 4 children, Mr Nick Harris enjoys a number of interests including running and has completed various half marathon competitions. Mr Harris has enjoyed playing rugby but stopped several years ago after an injury whilst playing for Rotherham. Whilst at university, Mr Harris represented the North and Midlands of Scotland in rugby against the touring Australian side in 1988.
