Mr Neil Harris was appointed as a consultant urologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Spire Leeds Hospital in Roundhay in 2008.

Following training in general urology, Mr Harris underwent advanced fellowship training in female urology and his main clinical interests are female and reconstructive urology. In particular, Mr Harris is interested in the management of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. He is also interested in male reconstructive urology, including use of the artificial urinary sphincter.

Mr Neil Harris graduated in medicine (MB ChB) from the University of Leeds in 1995. Following that, he spent several years in the Army and served as Regimental Medical Officer to The Light Dragoons, with operational tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia. He completed his basic surgical training in the Portsmouth area and was awarded a higher research degree (MD) for research into intravesical chemotherapy for bladder cancer. Mr Harris joined the South West Specialist Registrar training programme in urology, where he was trained in general urology and developed interests in female & reconstructive urology. He was appointed to the first approved Fellowship programme in the UK in female urology and undertook this training in Leicester and the US. 

Mr Harris has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has made over 30 presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

Mr Neil Harris lives in Roundhay with his wife, Jane and two children (Thomas and Charlotte).

He enjoys keeping fit, travel and skiing (whenever possible!)
