Professional profile:
I am a consultant general surgeon and qualified in 1986 at the M.S University, Baroda, India. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. My early postgraduate training was in India before I came to the UK. All my higher surgical training took place in Oxford and Leeds. My sub speciality interests are in transplant surgery and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. I also perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy and have a wide experience with the procedure. I am a part of the team of hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer surgeons at St James's Hospital, Leeds.

Outside medicine, I play club cricket and have a keen interest in the game.
