I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon based in Leeds since 2009 and all of my elective and emergency workload is related to the spine.

I completed my neurosurgical training in Leeds. Following this, I undertook a nationally recognised one-year spine fellowship in Nottingham which is one of the leading spinal centres in this country. This provided me with complete training in all aspects of spinal surgery.

Training under orthopaedic spinal surgeons during my fellowship gave me a unique opportunity to complement my understanding of spinal pathologies and management of various spinal conditions.

I have a special interest in innovative lateral access spinal surgery which is one of my index procedures and I am competent in spinal procedures ranging from decompressive surgery to minimally invasive to complex spinal instrumentation. I believe in evidence based management and use outcome measures for all my patients which is a very important part of my clinical practice.
