Background Information
Professional profile:

Miss Jacqueline Tay graduated from the University of Leicester and trained in Leicester, Manchester and Leeds.

Miss Tay has a broad training base, having been in clinical, research and university academic posts. Through her research into the function of the fallopian tubes with respect to embryo nutrition, she gained her post-graduate MD degree, also from the University of Leicester.

MIss Tay's main area of interest is in managing menstrual problems which can affect women of all ages and impact on their ability to work and care for their families. She has expertise in the non-surgical and surgical management of heavy menstrual bleeding, in particular the minimally invasive technique of endometrial ablation. Miss Tay also has expertise in the removal of submucous fibroids by resection and the removal of uterine polpys in the out-patient setting.

Miss Tay also has an interest in family planning and managing problems around the menopause.

To keep up to date with treatment and management options and for professional development, Miss Tay is a member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists and regularly attends their meetings. Miss Tay also fulfils the professional development requirements of the Royal College of Obstericians and Gynaecologists.

Miss Tay believes in good communcation with patients, particularly in sharing information and shared management plans.

Personal profile:

Although Miss Jacqueline Tay's work keeps her busy, she regularly finds time for gardening and growing tomatoes and figs (yes even in cold Yorkshire!). Miss Tay is a fair-weather walker and loves to sail, although she is not keen on competitive dinghy sailing! Miss Tay cut her teeth on dinghy sailing whilst at university and learnt on the great expanse of Rutland water. Since then she has graduated to yacht sailing and has obtained her RYA Day Skipper certificate. Unfortunately, living in Yorkshire means that Miss Tay does not get to sail as much as she would like to.
