Consultant Respiratory Medicine, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS TrustHonorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Leeds
I graduated from Cambridge University School of Medicine in 1995 having obtained an intercalated science degree with first class honours. After obtaining the MRCP in 1998 I began specialist training in respiratory medicine in 1999. I obtained an MSc in respiratory medicine (with distinction) in 2002. I spent three years at the Interstitial Lung Disease Unit at the National Heart and Lung Institute conducting research into sarcoidosis and scleroderma, leading to the award of a PhD in 2005. I completed my specialist training in 2007 and was appointed as a consultant respiratory physician at Leeds in November 2007. My practice covers all aspects of respiratory medicine and I am the lead clinician for sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease.
