Your role will include managing a group of patients providing clinical skills which include communicating with them, assessing their immediate and future care needs, and providing specialist clinical activities to aid their recovery and enhance their well-being right through to hospital discharge. This might include care of their surgical site, medicine management, fluid balance and providing personal care, such as bathing.
The wide range of clinical procedures provided by Spire hospitals means that you will be exposed to a diverse range of nursing specialisms: orthopaedics, paediatrics, oncology, bariatics, cardiac to name but a few. Whether working on a ward or in Outpatients, your role will be to care for patients compassionately and efficiently.
A key part of working at Spire is teamworking. As a Nurse you will interact with a wide range of clinical colleagues in pharmacy, theatres, physiotherapy and radiography as well as nursing. You will work closely with colleagues in housekeeping, food service and administration to ensure service to patients is synchronised and appropriate. A key part of your effectiveness will be in the way you prioritise and manage demands from your colleagues and patients.

Your career prospects
You can consider studying for further specialist qualifications in Nursing e.g. gynaecology, orthopaedic, cosmetic and breast care or in other education skills, such as NVQ assessment or professional teaching and assessing of students and colleagues.

What we are looking for
You will be a qualified Registered Nurse with experience of working in teams and working with minimum supervision. Ideally you will have experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes, although we often have vacancies for newly qualified nurses. Importantly you will be passionate about patient care, high clinical standards and looking for ways to improve the way we run our business. Your collaborative and positive approach to team working will mean you fit in well with our culture. We really value people who are organised and efficient, and who combine this with a genuine empathy for vulnerable and sick patients which is clearly perceptible. We need you to be willing to be flexible in your working patterns and processes.
A satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau check is essential for this role.
