Coronary artery bypass graft

If angioplasty is not possible the blocked vessels in the heart can sometimes be replaced by taking healthy vessels (usually from the leg). The procedure is carried out by a cardiac surgeon. There are three cardiac surgeons available at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital to perform coronary artery bypass graft operations. Patients have at least 1 night in the intensive care suite. With daily physiotherapy patients are usually ready to go home after 8 days.
