Mrs Allen graduated from Sheffield Medical School in 1997 and did all of her postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the Yorkshire region. She was appointed as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology in Hull in September 2008.
During her training she gained experience in general gynaecology including urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse. Her areas of special interest include menstrual problems, endometriosis and hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures.
She is a member of the Royal Colleg of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists and the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists.
