Consultant Neurosurgeon Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Consultant Clinical lead on complex spine disease)
Medical Defence Union
Society of British Neurosurgeons
I undertook my medical degree at King's College London obtaining MBBS BSc (Hons) with a Distinction in Surgery, during this time I also obtained a degree in Theology.
I completed my Neurosurgical training in London, working at Charing Cross Hospital, Queens Hospital and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
I sub-specialised in spinal surgery from an early stage in my training, whilst working for Professor Alan Crockard.
On completion of my training I took up a Consultant post at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for 1 year.
Currently I am the Consultant clinical lead for complex spine disease for the department of Neurosurgery at Hull Royal Infirmary, and the only complex spinal neurosurgeon covering Hull and East Yorkshire.
I was a keen sportsman in my youth, having represented England in Athletics and the South-West region in football and rugby.
I have also held a private pilots license and black belt in Shotokan karate, but now prefer the slightly more sedentary pursuit of climbing Scottish Munro's and the occasional marathon.
