I am qualified in all aspects of adult cardiology. I spent 3 years achieving my basic medical training and then spent 7 years in Hull completing my specialist training. I participate in the acute medical rota at Scarborough with regular on take sessions. I have been trained in both non-invasive and invasive cardiology. I am competent in trans thoracic echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography. I perform 5-6 angiograms weekly and am involved in angioplasty with colleagues in Hull. I attend a session on Monday morning at Castle Hill Hospital. I am competent in device implantation and have regular pacing sessions in Scarborough. I have previously implanted defibrillators and biventricular pacemakers, but have not implanted any since my appointment in Scarborough. I used to supervise the ICD clinic at Castle Hill Hospital and am involved with managing the more complex arrhythmias at Scarborough. I have previously worked with Dr Eric Kilpatrick in the lipid clinic at Hull Royal Infirmary. I have a good grounding in the management of hyperlipidaemia and secondary prevention is one of my interests

I am married with 5 children. Outside work I enjoy gardening, playing soccer, badminton, athletics and mountaineering.
