    Professional profile:
    I trained and registered as a general paediatician with special interest in paediatric gastroenterology with the General Medical Council.
    In my NHS Consultant post I spend more than two thirds of my time managing children with gastrointestinal problems and one third of my time dealing with children with general paediatric problems.
    I am particularly interested in children with feeding problems, vomiting, chronic diarrhoea, chronic constipation, soiling, recurrent abdominal pain, failure to thrive and bleeding from the gut.
    I am able to perform a variety of investigations on children including 24 hour Ph studies, breath tests for sugar intolerence, endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
    Personal profile:
    Through my training I enjoyed communicating with children and still continue to enjoy this aspect.

    My interests outside work include reading, history, football and walking in the country.
