After a recent £2.4 million development programme at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital, we have now officially opened our fourth operating theatre and five additional private patient bedrooms with en-suite wet room facilities.

Capacity in the main theatre suite now releases theatre 4 for the day care suite which is open from 07.00 to 20.00, Monday to Saturday and allows suitable procedures under General Anaesthetic to be discharged within 4 - 6 hours; for example simple hernias and gall bladder removal. Traditional day-case procedures performed under Local Anaesthetic and sedation for example, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Colposcopy, Broncosopy, Skin cancer and Benign skin lesions will also be treated in the day case suite.
We have also commissioned 3 additional consulting rooms and additional 30 car parking spaces at the rear of the hospital.
The development includes a new angiography lab and the new equipment provides much improved images for interventional radiology procedures such as Vertebroplasty, Kyhphoplasty, nerve root blocks and facet joint injections. It will continue to provide cardiology procedures such as Angiography, Angioplasty, Ablations, Pacemaker insertion and Cardioversions with this state of the art technology.
