Treatment for hand problems
The hand is a unique part of the human body with a delicate and refined relationship between it's various structures. Your hands help you eat, dress, write, earn a living, create art and do many other activities. To accomplish these tasks and activities, your hands require sensation and movement. An injury or disease can affect any or all of these structures and impair the use of your hands. Care must be given to all types of tissue.
Practice philosophy
Ms Grewal's aim is to ensure that every patient she tends to gets the best and appropriate care to the highest possible standard.
Not all orthopaedic problems need surgery. You will often be recommended non-surgical treatments such as medication, splints, walking aids, shoe inserts, physiotherapy or injections.
Surgery has many benefits. However, it is an irreversible treatment that does not come with any guarantees and always comes with some risks, which have to be considered on an individual basis.
Ms Grewal will always discuss with you all the alternatives, together with the benefits and risks of each, to help you make the best choice for you. The decision for surgery is made by you in partnership with the surgeon.
