Mr Iain Lennox is one of the few fully private orthopaedic surgeons in Essex.
Mr Lennox's main interests are in the treatment of early arthritis of the knee and ankle; arthroscopic (keyhole surgery) operations on the knee and ankle; sports related injuries (knee and ankle), total knee replacement. In addition to total hip replacement surgery he also offers hip arthroscopy. He also has a particular interest in foot surgery and carries out ankle replacement surgery. He places enormous importance on rehabilitation following surgery and, to this end, runs his own rehabilitation clinic.
Medical training and surgical experience
Iain Lennox qualified in medicine from the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel in 1983. He was made a fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1988 and awarded a knee fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore in 1989. In 1995 Mr Lennox was made a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the speciality of orthopaedic surgery. He was awarded a postgraduate diploma in biomechanics at the University of Strathclyde and a fellowship in knee surgery (specialising is sports surgery) at Duke University, North Carolina, USA. Iain Lennox was formerly a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock NHS Trust and received a higher degree of Doctor of Medicine from Aberdeen University in 1996. He was appointed to The Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000.
In 2012 Mr Lennox introduced bespoke knee replacement for his patients at Spire Hartswood Hospital.
