Miss Helen Tebbutt has a private gynaecological practice caring for women from Ilford, Havering, Upminster, Gidea Park, Brentwood, Basildon, Billericay and other parts of Essex. She has been engaged in private practice since 1987 and has been involved in the Medical Advisory Committee at Spire Hartswood Hospital. She has a caring and professional approach to all her patients.
Helen Tebbutt qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1977. She trained in Plymouth and at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. She spent eighteen months working in Liverpool studying for a Masters Degree and obtained her Masters Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1983.
In 1987, Miss Tebbutt was appointed as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, where she worked for four years and managed to achieve having her two children. She moved to work initially at Harold Wood Hospital in 1991 so that she and her family could live together. Now her NHS practice is based at Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex.
Her husband, Mr Stephen Burgess, is also a Gynaecologist working at Queen’s Hospital in Romford. Miss Tebbutt introduced out-patient hysteroscopy and laparoscopic procedures initially at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and further at Harold Wood Hospital where she worked with Mr Tony Weekes.
