Dr Koh is a consultant cardiologist at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood Essex, offering private cardiology care. He sees all general cardiology patients, including patients with chest pain, palpitations, breathlessness, hypertension and high cholesterol.
Dr Koh was awarded NHS Clinical Excellence Awards in 2005, 2007 and 2010.
Dr Koh is skilled in cardiac procedures including coronary angiography and angioplasty (especially transradial coronary interventional procedures). Dr Koh is Consultant-in-Charge of the Transoesophageal Echocardiography service at Barts and The London NHS Trust - London Chest Hospital, and has performed in excess of 1000 of such procedures.
He undertakes advanced cardiac imaging - including 3 dimensional echocardiography.
Dr Koh trained as a doctor at University College Hospital, London and undertook his cardiology training at London Teaching hospitals - The Royal Brompton Hospital, London Chest Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. He is accredited by the General Medical Council (United Kingdom) in both Cardiology and General Internal Medicine (GMC Specialist Register).
Dr Koh performs emergency coronary intervention procedures as part of the Heart Attack Centre at the London Chest Hospital. This is the largest unit in the UK for emergency coronary angioplasty treatment for heart attack patients.
He is actively involved in training in other cardiologists, general practitioners and specialists nurse practitioners. He is Training Supervisor for Diploma in Cardiology.
Dr Koh’s contribution to the cardiology scientific literature covers a wide range of disciplines including coronary artery disease, coronary intervention, cardiac imaging (especially transoesophageal echocardiography) and cardiac arrhythmias. He is a chapter author in the Oxford Handbook of Cardiology (Oxford University Press).
