Dr Rudy Capildeo was a consultant neurologist at the Regional Centre for Neurosciences, Oldchurch Hospital (now Queen’s Hospital, Romford) and at Basildon Hospital from 1982 until 2002. His neurology training was at the Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham, London, from 1973 to 1982. In Essex, he set up specialist clinics in headache, migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, TIA and provided paediatric neurology care.

Dr Capildeo has been in full-time private practice since 2002. He offers rapid access towards diagnosis and treatment for all types of neurological diseases. In addition to top of the range scanning at Spire Hartswood (MRI, MR angiography, CT scanning, EEG and EMG/nerve conduction studies), DAT scanning for Parkinson’s Disease can be arranged. For complicated spinal cases, upright MRI scans can be arranged, as can 3T MRI scanning for early dementia diagnosis.

At any one time, Dr Capildeo is working with 35-40 different consultant physicians, neurophysiologists, radiologists and surgeons, for the benefit of our patients.

Rudy Capildeo believes in a personal and practical approach to patients and their families.

 

Personal profile:

I am a busy Neurologist with a keen interest within my specialty, with eight books and more than 80 papers published. It is also an interest of mine to raise funds for research and charities linked to my specialty, ie multiple sclerosis.

My main hobbies would be listening to music, playing chess, bridge and supporting at Chelsea Football Club.
