Dr Nagui Gendi is a consultant rheumatologist at Spire Hartswood private hospital in Brentwood, Essex, offering private rheumatology care in our clean and comfortable private hospital.
Dr Nagui Gendi has been a consultant in Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals since 1995. He received his rheumatology training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and the Royal Free Hospital in London. He has a broad expertise in all aspects of rheumatology. He is also well trained in general medicine and has an MSc in internal medicine from Alexandria University.
Dr Gendi does a weekly connective tissue disease clinic in Basildon, in addition to combined Rheumatology/Orthopaedics and Paediatrics/Rheumatology clinics. He also has an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound. He contributes to management and the development of services through his role as a Clinical Director for Outpatients in Basildon.
At Spire Hartswood Hospital, Dr Gendi sees patients with the full spectrum of rheumatic conditions including inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid, systemic rheumatic diseases such as lupus, metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis, non inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and work related disorders. He also treats individual joint problems for which he may offer injections in clinic as part of a comprehensive treatment programme.
I am married with three sons. My wife, Naira is medically qualified, but has taken an interest in child education and is running a Montessori nursery. All three of my sons are animators. I am an active member of the Coptic Church in the UK and also a trustee for the Essex Rheumatology Trust.
