After training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at Masachussetts General Hospital Boston USA, The Royal London Hospital and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital I was appointed Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery with a special interest in joint replacement at The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in 1991.
I am now the Senior Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at QEII and Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at QEII and Lister Hospitals.
I was granted admitting rights to Spire Harpenden Hospital in 1991. My NHS work involves all aspects of general trauma and orthopaedic surgery as well as the subspecialist interests listed above. I am the Orthopaedic Surgeon to The Essex County Rugby Club.
Personal profile:
I am married with four children, the last born in 1989 when the oldest was four. I have a passion for fast cars and participating in sport, although usually at bottom team level! I try to make myself available to play rugby (although I have played front row with both sons on the same team, I have a target not to retire until my prop does as he is two years older than me), cricket and golf (member Mid Herts GC). One daughter plays lacrosse for England having retired from synchronized swimming for Great Britain, the other is Hertfordshire synchronized swimming champion. I enjoy mountaneering (rock climbing, ice climbing and ski touring) and try to spend my holidays in the French Alps with my family.
