Dr Bataille sees all dermatology conditions including skin diseases in children. She also performs minor surgery for the removal of skin lesions. Dr Bataille's expertise is in melanoma and moles (atypical naevi and the atypical mole syndrome), as well as familial melanoma but she also sees all types of skin cancers.

Dr Bataille completed her dermatology training in London and worked in several teaching hospitals as a registrar and senior registrar in dermatology. In 1995, Dr Bataille finished her fellowship for Cancer UK on the genetics of melanoma and has since carried a lot of research on skin cancers.

In 1996 Dr Bataille became a consultant dermatologist at Barts and the London NHS Trust where she pursued her clinical and research interest in melanoma. In 2004, Dr Bataille joined the West Herts Trust as a consultant dermatologist based at St Albans and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals where she practises general dermatology but is also running specialised melanoma clinics.

Dr Bataille is orginally from Belgium and has practised as a doctor in this country for 20 years. She trained at the Louvain Medical School in Brussels and moved to London as a senior house officer in 1985. She started her dermatology training in 1988 and worked at Barts and the London, St Thomas and St George's Hospitals.

Dr Bataille also has had a busy academic career with research into melanoma and genetics of skin diseases in twins with a PhD in 1995.
Dr Bataille is married with two children and enjoys skiing, sailing, gardening, cooking. baroque music, ballet and opera.
