Professional profile :
I am a Consultant Paediatrician at the Luton and Dunstable Teaching Hospital since 1993, managing all aspects of Paediatric clinical problems in a district general hospital setup.
I have a special interest in Paediatric cardiology and regularly perform echocardiographic assessments in children of all ages. I am the lead physician for paediatric echocardiographic and paediatric cardiology services at my hospital and work closely with the cardiology team at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
I am also a trained Neonatologist providing inpatient neonatal care and outpatient support for infants.
I enjoy teaching and training the paediatric medical and nursing staff and hold the position as Honorary Senior Lecturer at the UCL Medical school in recognition for my contribution to the undergraduate teaching.
I am conscious of the problems facing children in the developing world and am involved in charity work through organisations such as the Lion’s Club in Sri Lanka and India.
I have great experience in understanding the child, parents and the family needs and provide the needed support to them during and after consultation. My communication and listening skills are an asset on this aspect.
