The aim of my practice of eating disorder services in Spire Harpenden is to provide comprehensive care at one site by one person. The advantage is that I will be able to form a complete picture of a person’s eating disorder which usually has different aspects to it i.e medical, psychological, therapeutic and dietetic. Understanding and combining these elements in someone’s condition enables me to synthesise a comprehensive treatment plan covering all the aspects of their condition.

In order to achieve the above mentioned, I have training in eating disorders psychiatry from a renowned centre of eating disorders. I have postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy, accreditation in interpersonal therapy and training in liaison psychiatry which covers the overlapping area between psychiatry and other medical and surgical specialities. I am currently working in this specialised field as Consultant Psychiatrist.

I would like to offer help for people suffering from eating disorders namely Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorders, atypical versions of these conditions and Morbid Obesity with psychiatric causes.

I am originally from India. I am married with two young daughters. I love spending time with them but sometimes they need a bit of space from me! During summer months, I play cricket and I resort to the Chess board during winter months. My long term ambition is to travel to North and South Poles and I am waiting for the weather to improve in the poles.
