Hand Surgery Centre at Spire Harpenden Hospital

Spire Harpenden Hospital has consolidated its hand surgery expertise to offer a dedicated hand surgery service.

Specialised physiotherapy is an essential, but often ignored, part of the recovery from hand surgery so our hand surgery centre is fully supported by a specialist hand therapist who offers physiotherapy and rehabilitation (splintage) services.

Our hand surgery centre is fully supported by a specialist hand therapist

The advantages offered by Spire’s hand surgery service are:

  • It is surgeon-led, offering the expertise of experienced, specialist surgeons.
  • The service is supported by a dedicated hand therapy specialist physiotherapist, ensuring a better post-surgery functional outcome. The service is also supported by a plastic surgery nurse specialist - to ensure the highest levels of patient communication and aesthetic surgical outcomes.
  • It is seamless, with continuity of care maintained throughout - the patient will see the same clinicians throughout their treatment journey.
  • Patients will be able to make inputs to their own treatment, such as choice of local or general anaesthesia, etc.
  • Because of the large number of specialists available, waiting times are minimal.
