Virtual consultations:

I qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 1997 and trained in general urology in the East of Scotland. Whilst in training, I undertook an innovative two-year research project into the relationship of prostatic tissue mechanical characteristics with benign and malignant prostate disease at the University of Edinburgh for which I was awarded the DM degree.

Sub-specialty training took me to Australia, where I spent a fellowship year training in upper tract laparoscopy and endourology at the St George Hospital in Sydney, before returning to Scotland as a fellow in endourology at the Scottish Lithotriptor Centre in Edinburgh. I have developed sub-specialty expertise in laparoscopic renal surgery, extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy, rigid and flexible ureteroscopy with laser stone fragmentation, and percutaneous stone surgery.
