I am a fully qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in shoulder and upper limb surgery. I specialize in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery. My clinics are structured to swiftly form accurate diagnoses, and apply focused treatment. My practice is audited to maintain standards of excellence in patient care.
I qualified from the world-renowned Residency Training Program at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2003. I came to Scotland specifically to complete Specialist Fellowship Training in Upper Limb Surgery at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary under Miss Julie McBirnie and Mr. Mike Robinson. I also trained in Elbow Surgery under Mr Lech Rymascewski at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Since 2005 I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where I perform elective upper limb and trauma surgeries.
I am the Program Director for the South East Scotland Deanery, responsible for the training of all Specialist Registrars in Edinburgh. I find this and my other academic activities keep me up to date with latest advances in my field.
In 2010 I joined my colleagues as a member of the Edinburgh Orthopaedic Specialist group.
