Undergraduate and post graduate surgical training in Edinburgh at the Royal, Western General Hospital and St Johns Hospital in Livingston, where I developed my interest in plastic surgery. This was followed by a short period in Canniesburn, plastic surgery unit, Glasgow, before undertaking a 2 year plastic surgery research degree in Sydney, Australia. I then returned to the North East of England to complete my higher surgical training programme in Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. As a nationally appointed fellow in oncoplastic breast surgery I extended my breast surgery experience.

On completion of my training programme I was awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons, England a BASO oncoplastic travelling scholarship to the university hospitals in Gent, Belguim and the Crawford Long hospital, Atlanta, USA. While in the states I spent an enjoyable time working within a purely aesthetics practice in California. In the States I consolidated my experience in Facial aesthetic surgery including, face-lifting, brow lifting, eyelid rejuvenation surgery, body contouring in particular after weight loss surgery.

I have recently started my consultants post in St Johns Hospital in Livingston where I specialise in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.

I am happily married and we enjoy living in Edinburgh. My interests outside my professional life include a variety of sporting activities. I particularly enjoy windsurfing, skiing, cycling and sailing when I have the opportunity.

I also enjoy music, theatre and Fine Art. On a more social note I am developing an interest in wine tasting and Scotch whisky.
