    Background Information 
    Professional profile:
    After completing my surgical specialty training in Melbourne, Australia, I worked for ten years as a general surgeon in the rural community of Echuca, northern Victoria, managing a very broad range of surgical conditions.

    Since relocating to Edinburgh in 2002 I have been able to develop my special interest in hernia surgery of all types, abdominal laparoscopic surgery and obesity surgery. I am also heavily involved in teaching and training of medical students and young surgeons at the Royal Infirmary, where I also hold the post of Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
    Personal profile:
    My family and I originally came to Scotland on a 12-month contract but have enjoyed it so much, and settled in so well, that we decided to stay. We love the local history and culture as well as the opportunities to travel within the UK and abroad. When away from the Hospital, I like to listen to music, spend time with my family and occasionally play golf, and I do my best to keep fit by jogging several times per week.
