Alex Bennett qualified from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London in 1998. He completed his specialist ear, nose and throat training in London and Cambridge. He undertook an Otology Fellowship at Addenbrookes, Cambridge, and was awarded a Masters in Surgical Education from Imperial College, London with distinction.
Alex is a Consultant ENT Surgeon based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Lauriston Building, where he takes a lead in the management of patients with ear problems, balance disorders, hearing loss and tinnitus. He also works at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, in general paediatric otolaryngology as well as assisting the Scottish National Ear Reconstruction and Cleft Palate Services.
Surgical procedures undertaken include middle ear implants, mastoid surgery, ossiculoplasty, stapedectomy, myringoplasty, grommet insertion, otoplasty, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and adeno-tonsillectomy.
