Professional profile:

I perform over 400 small incision phaco-emulsification (modern small incision) cataract surgeries annually with over 99% as a day case. I co-lead the oculoplastic (eyelid and socket) service for Lothian.

Audit of surgical outcomes forms the backbone of revalidation, I was the inaugural audit secretary for the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society. I have a keen interest in teaching and have, for the past 10 years, run the undergraduate ophthalmology course at Edinburgh University.
