Professional profile:

After qualifying in 1990 I worked briefly in paediatric surgery and plastic surgery before entering training for ophthalmology. During the course of my training I wrote an MD thesis on ocular blood flow in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. After completion of my training I spent a fellowship year  in ocular oncology and oculoplastic surgery in Glasgow.

I have been a full time NHS consultant since 2006 working in Edinburgh and West Lothian. My current NHS practice comprises cataract surgery, oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery in addition to general ophthalmology.

I am pleased to see adult patients with lid problems (lid malposition, lid lesions) watery eyes or cataract.
