Professional profile:
I have been fortunate in training at both St Andrews and Glasgow Universities. My professional training has been at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital, followed by registrar and senior registrar training at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh.

In addition, I trained under Professor Constable at the Lions Eye Institute, Perth, Western Australia in retinal surgery. My main interests include small incision cataract surgery, all forms of retinal surgery, including macular holes and diabetic eye disease and general ophthalmology.
Personal profile:
I am married with three children. My main sporting interests in the past have included playing rugby to quite a high level. I now live a more sedate life playing golf as a member of Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Club.
