Background Information 
Professional profile:
My interest in the management of cancer dates from my experience as a junior doctor at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. After completing general medical training, I trained in Medical Oncology in Edinburgh. Posts undertaken included Clinical Lecturer for the University of Edinburgh and an ICRF Clinical Research Fellow, for which I researched the interaction of cytotoxic drugs and interferons.

In my present appointment as Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, I care for a large population of women with primary or metastatic breast cancer who are receiving chemotherapy or other drug therapies.

Clinical research is a central pillar of my professional life in the NHS, and my aim is to help develop more effective therapies while working to minimise adverse impact on the lives of my patients.

In my private practice, I see women who require treatment with systemic (drug) therapies for the early or advanced stages for breast cancer.
