Clinical psychology and counselling services
The diagnosis and treatment of cancer can be a stressful time for patients and their families. The counselling and psychological support services available at Spire Murrayfield Hospital aim to provide emotional support and care for people and their families affected by cancer. Counselling can be of benefit at any stage of a patient’s journey from diagnosis, through treatment, recovery and beyond.
At the Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre at Spire Murrayfield Hospital patients have access to our breast and gynaecological cancer nurse specialist Ellie Bentley, and our colon and urological nurse specialist Shirley Wood. Our counselling facilities include a private room with comfortable seating and discussion area designed to offer a private and relaxed environment in which to discuss issues that may be causing concern, anxiety or upset.
Our Clinical Psychologist Belinda Hacking is also available to counsel and meet with patients at all stages of their treatment journey.
To find out more about either of these specialist services, ask one of our oncology centre nurses.
