We understand that a number of clinics around Europe offer cosmetic surgery, often at a lower price than those offered by hospitals in the UK such as Spire’s hospitals. There are many reasons for the price difference, and many benefits of going to a reputable hospital which is close to home.
At Spire you’ll be looked after throughout your journey (from first appointment until discharge from our care) by a fully qualified plastic surgeon.
All our surgeons are on the register of the General Medical Council (GMC) and some are members of BAPRAS (The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) or BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).
Being a member of BAAPS or BAPRAS means that the surgeon holds a current NHS post as a plastic surgeon, and has undergone specialist training in plastic and reconstructive surgery for a minimum of five years after they qualified.
Visit the hospital as many times as you like
Once you come to see the surgeon for your first appointment, if you feel you need more information or just want to talk through further, you can come back for subsequent consultations.
Attend a free event
You can also attend any one of our free public information evenings and meet previous patients, ask any questions and get a feel for the hospital.
Speak to past patients
We can put you in touch with patients who have had surgery with us to get an idea from them about what to expect and the type of service you can expect to receive.
Experienced cosmetic nurses
Many of our hospitals have specialist cosmetic nurses. At Spire Leeds Hospital, they have a team of five specialist cosmetic surgery nurses who are available for you 24 hours a day, no matter what it is patients need.
Whilst we all work on the basis that patients have their procedure without any sort of complication, complications may sometimes occur. As part of the fixed price, we provide treatment for clinical complications arising directly from your treatment.
It is very important that you read our patient terms and conditions, which set out what is included and excluded from your treatment. A copy can be found here or can be requested from your local Spire hospital.
Reassurance of being nearby
If you choose somewhere nearby it means you can just pop in to see one of the cosmetic nurses or ring up the consultant when you need to. If you are travelling a distance for surgery this is not possible without considerable expense and inconvenience.
