Laing & Buisson presented the 2008 Independent Healthcare Awards on Tuesday 16th September and Spire Healthcare was amongst the winners.
Sonia King, Spire’s National Clinical Governance Coordinator and their Clinical Services Team won the Healthcare Outcomes Award, which is open to organisations that can demonstrate clear evidence of genuine improvements in healthcare outcomes.
Spire’s submission for the award highlighted the development of the “clinical scorecard” across its hospitals which is designed to measure and improve the following outcomes:
• treatment reliability
• safety and efficacy
• compliance with standards
• patient and staff empowerment
The scorecard has helped improve the visibility of clinical performance and consistency of standards across the Spire group, an achievement which has now been recognised nationally.
Sonia King accepted the award and says:
“It was a great honour and privilege to collect this prestigious award on behalf of the clinical team at Spire. The awards ceremony was both enjoyable and inspiring as all nominees in all categories were showcased allowing us to see some fantastic examples of practice being carried out in the independent healthcare sector.”
